TYPE 1 DIABETES with its complications for 40 years did not put me down, nor did the Muscular Dystrophy and its complications for thirty years, With God's love, I went on to raise a family, enjoy a career, and earn 2 degrees. It was the massive Stroke 2 years ago on top of my Diabetes and Muscular Dystrophy that threatened to put me down. However, this story is not about me....this is all about Joey! JOEY ENTERED my life six years ago Today I am strong and proud with Joey, self-confident with Joey, and never alone or depressed with Joey. He remains loyal and has saved my life many times. With Joey I can live on my own and even run my business. Yes, Joey is my service dog, but most importantly, he is my peace and joy! |
